    BSc in health sciences and cell biology (McGill), Registered Medical Technologist, specializing in cytogenetics and embryopathology, at BC Children’s Hospital.

    Retired in 2020.

    Leads forest-bathing (shinrin-yoku) sessions for organizations and individuals in Richmond Nature Park, Pacific Spirit Park, and across Greater Vancouver

    Previously served as Outreach Coordinator for the Vancouver Unitarians’ environment team and has specialized in organizing events; intergenerational dinners, Green New Deal town hall, film screenings, and educational forums. Currently she chairs a team that works on multicultural and anti-racism initiatives and continues to promote intersections with environmental issues.

    Tamiko's life bridges science, nature, and activism. She believes healing begins outdoors with forest walks, mindful observation, community gatherings and reconnecting to nature.. Through her guide work and her advocacy, she models how individual connections to nature can spark a desire for environmental stewardship and collective environmental resilience.
